Nicholas Cage to Pay $14,000,000 Tax Debt to IRS

You may have seen his movies, but did you know Nicholas Cage owes approximately $14 million to the Internal Revenue?  Maybe Cage should have stayed on Alcatraz after filming The Rock.

A tax lien in the amount of $6.2 million was filed against Nicholas Cage in July and the IRS has more recently filed a tax lien in the amount of $6.7 million.  The actor has been selling off mansions and other property around the world in an effort to satisfy his tax debts.  The tax liens should remain until the liabilities are satisfied.  Cage has also sued his ex-manager and accountant, Samuel Levin, accusing Levin of making poor investment choices in risky real estate and failing to pay the actor’s taxes.

Cage has stated that he is current with his 2009 tax liability and will not accrue any taxes for the 2009 period.
